Audio
In language teaching, audio is often used for teaching listening and speaking.
Voice Mail/ Voice EmailOne of the challenges for EIL students is to do over-phone-conversations because of the lack of environment clues. By teaching students to make voice mail or email, and having them to practice as homework can strengthen their speaking skill, and also prepare them for real life communication.
On the other hand, it would be helpful for teachers to communicate with parents and other teachers by using voice mail or email. The picture above was the voice email that my boss received earlier, and she forwarded it to me. It is also one of the advantages that you can forward the message to others who are involved very easily. |
RecordingsAudio recorder is now installed on cell phones or other electronic devices,
so it is really easy to assess. Teachers can use it to make recordings for modeling speaking, or preparing for exam-used materials. Students can use it for doing listening and speaking practice, they can also submit their recordings to their teachers as homework. It would be useful for themselves and teachers to keep track on their progress of speaking. For those who may not have an electronic device, there are some online recorders as well, such as http://vocaroo.com/ |
