Live Internet Communication
SkypeSkype is the most frequently used technology tool I use for communicating with people from all over the world. It is free and very user-friendly. I usually use it for video chat, especially with my family back home when I am studying abroad.
I also use skype for academic group chat with my TESOL teacher and classmate, so that we can meet and talk outside of the classroom.
It is good for keeping me updated with the news about the TESOL field as well, I will keep using it to communicate with my classmates for getting more information about TESOL. |
FacetimeFacetime is actually another useful tool for video chat, it is convenient because I don't have to install any software to use Facetime as long as I have an iPhone. However, it is also a limitation that it can only be used with someone who is using apple products.
I usually use it when I am outdoor without my laptop, I can just use my phone to do video chat with good quality.

Using Facebook is also a very comfortable way for communicating with others associated with TESOL or language teaching. I subscribed many different pages about TESOL for most updated information, such as the page of British Council. I can share useful information easily on my own page or forward to other people on Facebook. I also joined the Facebook page of TESOL Society of BYU-H, and I got to know more about different TESOL majors by talking to them on Facebook Messager.
